Kurt Peiser

Kurt Peiser (1887 Antwerp - 1962 Uccle/Brussels), painter, draftsman with Polish-Jewish roots, studied at the Antwerp Art Academy.

He found his inspiration preferably in the vicinity of the Antwerp harbor. With a sharp eye for the details, he painted people on the margins of society, the people on the street or picturesque harbor scenes, often sailors and prostitutes in the fishing pubs. Some of his works were created in the Jewish quarter of Amsterdam.
