About the artist:
Otmar Alt is a German painter, graphic artist, designer and sculptor. He represents the guiding principle, art that has to be explained is boring. In his view, art should not be elitist, but accessible to everyone at any time. The viewer should work out the meaning of the work himself. Old, the individualist, cannot be assigned to any genre or art movement. The common distinguishing feature of his work is his willingness to experiment. Old, often colorful pictures seem mostly cheerful and playful. A closer look reveals profound and complex stories. It is characteristic of his style that his works consist of color fields composed of puzzles with precise outlines. He mostly uses pure colors, the luminosity of which is increased by the border. Animals, especially Cats strange creatures and the circus world are his primary subjects.
