Eugen Gomringer
is a renowned representative of concrete poetry in the German-speaking world and at the same time an important interpreter of 20th century art.
The inspiration for his work came from ancient East Asia, where everyday objects were often inscribed with poetry or sayings.
Gomringer headed the cultural work at Rosenthal from 1967 to 1985. His artist plate "The simple way is simply the way" can be described as his "visible calling card" at Rosenthal.
