
Maurice Blieck (13 September 1876 Laeken - 5 February 1922 Brussels) studied at the Royal Art Academy in Brussels. As a founding member of the Brussels artists' association "Sillon", he took part in the group's exhibitions from 1896. During the First World War he stayed in Paris and London. During his stay in London he developed his own color palette with delicate light effects. He settled in Rouge-Cloître near Brussels.
His work includes paintings of landscapes, harbor scenes, villages, portraits and genre paintings. His work was attributed to Impressionism and Belgian Luminism.
