
Ferdinand Pire (*1943) comes from a family of artists. Education by his father Marcel Pire and at the Art Academy in Brussels.
His subjects in youth were landscapes and genre scenes in Africa.
Since the 80s he has been dedicated to stained glass, heavily influenced by the Belgian painter Floris Jespers. By combining Expressionist and Cubist traits, he creates immortal characters.
In 2002, a retrospective of about 60 works was compiled, which illustrated the development of his technique and went around the world for several years.
Pire has received worldwide recognition for the perfection of his technique. As a representative of Belgian art he received in 2008 the Leopold II Order.
The artist lives and works in Malaga and Brussels.
